Housing Rules and Regulations

     The LAU on-campus housing is your home away from home. LAU will do its best to insure that you as a resident is as comfortable as possible, and will try to accommodate most of your individual needs. Nevertheless, for the safety, security, comfort, and wellbeing of all, residents must abide by the rules and regulations that are listed below:

  1. Residents are encouraged to use the housing facilities, which include the common rooms, lounge, and computers. It is the residents' responsibility to properly use all the facilities. Damage, outside ’ware and tear’, to any of the items will be charged to the resident's account, according to prices provided by the business office every year.

  2. Removal of any of the equipment or furniture is NOT allowed without prior approval by the Residence Hall supervisor.


  3. Maintenance personnel are available for all repairs needed, in a timely manner. Fixing or attempting to fix a broken device or furniture is NOT permitted.


  4. All rooms and duplexes must be vacated during the last three weeks of September for maintenance purposes. All belonging must be moved out of all rooms and stored in the Residence Hall storage facilities if needed.


  5. All residents must observe the Quiet hours from 08:00pm until 08:00am the next day.


  6. Smoking is only permitted in private rooms. Smoking is not permitted in any other area.


  7. Alcoholic beverages may NOT be stored, consumed or allowed on the premises of the Residence Hall, at any time and for any circumstance.


  8. NO pets are allowed on the premises of the Residence Hall.


  9. Visitors of the same gender ONLY are permitted in the residents’ rooms. Visitation hours are from 08:00am until 10:00pm. Guests are only permitted after signing in at the front desk.They must also sign out before departure. Residents are responsible for the behavior of their guests, and bear all consequences of the violation of the Hall's regulations.


  10. No mixed gender visitations in the residents' rooms are permitted under any circumstances and at any time.


  11. Guests are allowed in the lounge from 08:00am until 10:00pm after signing in, at the front desk. They must also sign out before departure.

  12. The lounge is open from 7:00 am until midnight every day for residents' use only.


  13. The outer doors of the Residence Hall are open from 06:30 am until 12:00pm daily except for Friday and Saturday nights where the closing time is at 02:00am.


  14. Any resident desiring more freedom as to curfew hours must secure parental or guardian permission to do so. These are secured by a special form that must be submitted to the Dean of Students office at least a week before the beginning of the semester. If no such permission is granted, residents must abide by the opening/curfew hours of the Residence Hall.


  15. Residents are required to notify the Residence Hall supervisor, of any outstay prior to leaving.


  16. Any medical emergency must be directed immediately to the Residence Hall supervisor and the Dean of Students or his delegate.


  17. Residents must abide by the safety regulations at all times. They are also required to check regularly the Residence Hall bulletin board for specific instructions and announcements.


  18. Life on campus is based on trust, respect of others and high moral ethics. Any serious violation or improper behavior may subject the resident to a citation, a warning or even immediate dismissal from the campus residence.
